Greetings Earthlings!

Hello hello!

First off I should introduce myself, that would be the polite thing to do. My name is Alannah (or InTheLandOfDigital) and I'm a 20 year old student who has no idea what she would like to do for a living.

Currently I'm working on getting my high school diploma via online courses at my local Central Programs. Yes yes I know you're all thinking "She's 20 and still hasn't graduated??". There's a simple answer to that one, I wasn't a very good student. That's not to say I'm not smart because I'm actually quite brilliant when the occasion calls for it. My problem tends to be procrastinating and just plain not showing up. I had some issues which I've since dealt with and am only one course away from getting my diploma. Cue balloons now!

Ooh shiny!

Anyway back to the point of this post. This is just a preliminary post or an introductory post for what's to come. I am blogging about the changes that are going to be taking place in my life. The resolutions are as follows...

1. exercise more
Of course, I have a trip to London to look good for!
2. read 1 book per every two weeks
I'm a very fast reader, tackled Harry Potter BK.6 in one night! Maybe I'll do a review.
3. obtain my high school diploma by October 31st
The course only takes about six weeks, and I start in September.
4. improve my french
Speaking and grammar, I went to Paris in May/June 2011 and I miss being fluent.
5. write at least 100 words per day
That doesn't sound hard but really, it is. It's why I always miss fic challenge deadlines.
6. complete my futuristic novel
It's still in the sprog-stage but I'd love to actually finish something.
7. improve my English
Grammar to be more specific. I really hate when I write something, have my friend look it over and point out that it's riddled with errors. Not necessarily spelling of a word but run-on sentences or missing periods.
8. get a new job
I currently work at Subway and loathe every second of it. So after the new year it's time to pound the pavement! If all else fails, two jobs is better than one especially since I need to save money.
9. say yes
What I mean by "say yes" is that when someone asks you to take out the trash or go the extra mile to help them out, say yes! Make it a Yes-Year!
10. play nice with others
Several times over the last year or so people have pointed out that when I speak I'm very 'as a matter of fact' and come across as rude. I genuinely believe myself to be a nice person but in the future I'll think before I open my mouth.
11. stop procrastinating
One of my worst habits. Learned since before I even the womb! I was born two weeks late and have been running two steps behind every since.
12. dare
Much like my successful new year's resolution last year, do what you're afraid of. Scared off coming out? Do it anyway. Scared of applying to that University you've secretly been dreaming of but too embarrassed to tell anyone about? Do it! Be honest with yourself, do what you never dreamed possible and dream a little bigger!

*Pauses to catch breath* Whew, you really don't know how hard it is to come up with TWELVE resolutions that don't tie in with each other or are not just a variation of another. My poor little walnut (i.e. my brain).

If I get enough courage I'll cross post this on youtube. The idea of my scary mug on the wide web is enough to cause nightmares.

I can't think of anything else but if I do, I'll be sure to add on to this post.
